Thanks for all the feedback. I will go and have a look at one on the weekend and see if we like it. As long as the wife likes the look she is done.

I did consider the Patriot, but I am bit of a technology junkie and like the climate control on the Cherokee . And also the Patriot does not have leather, with young kids I like the whole it just wipes off fact, my current car has leather seats and I don't really want to go back.

I have a Patriot with leather seats - they have a limited option - it has all the bells and whistles except climate control. it gets between 6.2 and 7.5l per 100k so if you want too save some fuel patriot is the way too go

Ah thanks so it does. What is the size difference if any of the Patriot and the Cherokee. I have a family of 2 kids and we camp a lot so I need space. I only assume the Cherokee is larger in the boot area than the patriot.

they are about the same size unless you get the thumper 9way stereo
you get roofracks std on the patriot as well

there is a reason patriots are selling heaps more than the cherokee - people don't really want the 4wd they just want awd with the 4by layout

The new KK is larger in the boot than the KJ, If towing go the diesel. Not really sure about the towing capacity thing, could be little confusion still out there because of the new model. The KK is very cool with a sliding floor in the boot.

Depending on size issue also there is the Commander....bit bigger again.
