it would be good if they were able to make it a graduated response from the key fob like on a lot of other cars:

1 click unlocks the jeep driver side door only
2 clicks unlocks all the jeep doors and turns on the lights

or something like that.

Casey,

Check you user manual, you can set it up that way. Mine was set up that way when I picked it up and I changed it. I can't remember how and the manual is at home.

I got it set like that as default when i bought my JK! On my next service i cant wait to get it chanced to 1 click opens all doors because i do this all the time that i want to get something out of the back gate and i only click it once and then realize it's still closed and then i got to click it twice again just to open it!

You can just head into any jeep branch and they should do it for you at no extra cost!

Just copied this out of the on-line PFD users guide that I downloaded from the Jeep.com web page:

To Unlock the Doors and Swing Gate
Press and release the “Unlock” button on the key fob
once to unlock only the driver’s door or twice to unlock
all the doors and swing gate. When the “Unlock” button
is pressed, the illuminated entry will initiate, and the
parking lights will flash on twice.
The system can be programmed to unlock all the doors
upon the first “Unlock” button press by using the following
procedure:
1. Press and hold the “Lock” button on a programmed
key fob.
2. Continue to hold the “Lock” button at least 4 seconds,
but not longer than 10 seconds, then press and hold the
“Unlock” button.

3. Release both buttons at the same time.
4. Test the feature while outside of the vehicle, by
pressing the “Lock/Unlock” button on the keyfob.

NOTE:
Pressing the “Lock” button on the keyfob while
you are inside the vehicle will activate the Security
Alarm. Opening a door with the Security Alarm activated
will cause the alarm to sound. Press the “Unlock” button
to deactivate the Security Alarm.
5. If the desired programming was not achieved or to
reactivate this feature, repeat the above steps.

This is what I did and I only press the unlock once and all doors and the gate unlock at the same time.

Oh, and here is the link to the download page for the maual:

Well one can always resort to old school... Just use the key in the key hole in the door! Works for me when I don't want the lights to come on. I find having the "light comeing on" a handy feature when ur parked in dark areas.
Just my 2 bobs worth.

Phil, that's brilliant!! Totally simple option and one I've never used. Had keyless entry on cars for years now so didn't even think about that idea. Best of both worlds now, just got to remember in bush camps after a few, not to press the button anymore.

cheers,
