best thing about the patriot as I own one

Fuel economy - 6l per 100k
heated leather seats- its getting cold again
the size of the back is enormous when you fold the back seats
smooth touring ride

Skotup, you do understand that the Patriots with the trail rated badge have the CV2Lo transfer case that provides them with (approx) 2:1 gear reduction when engaged.

My wife has a Patriot Diesel, with the premium sound, we just fitted Cooper CS4 tyres in a 225/65R17 (up from 215/55R17) and as a dirt road tourer it is fantastic. I drove it from Canberra to Terowie last year, camped along the Murray averaged 7.5L/100Km on the trip (had the roof basket with the balance of a drum kit on the roof), never had a drama (didn't try to do anything stupid). If you want a vehicle to tour the country side in, and don't want to go nuts in the bush (the J20 is for that!) then I cannot recommend a Patriot highly enough

And that is exactly what the Patriot is made for. Great little tourer and grocery getter. I personally don't get why the Patriot gets such a hard time. At least it's got a Jeep badge on it, and it doesn't pretend to be a rock crawling, mud pit conquering animal. I'd rather have a Patriot than a Rav4 or X-trail CRV etc...

Sound system is awesome.
I like the colour scheme of the dashboard lights at night.
It has a proper cruise control stick, and not one of these stupid steering wheel ones that are found on some jeeps. i.e. WJ/G
It goes good offroad for the amount of stuff I need to do.

I scraped the underside of my magna many times before trying to drive off road(well it wasn't intended offroad). Now I don't have that problem anymore.
Also I took a 2009 Commodore SV6 offroad because I had to. That wouldn't off been nice after wards for the underside, the body kit and 18 inch rims.

Oh and the patriot has great on road handling and maneuverability. I don't have to go as slow as a bus around a corner so I don't roll.

economy on the CRD is just great. ride on the road or dirt is just sensational and as tasar said the heated seats in winter are a real bonus.
