Seen plenty of Pro's warp diff housings: I'd get it done in a jig after stripping it if it was mine.

Hmmmm, sounds like I might have to go for the jig option, last thing I want to do after spending all this coin on it is to warp it Just dont like spending cash on an easy job but then don't want to stuff it up.

Cheers
Steve

Steve, Grab some scrap the same thickness as each and burn them together a few time to get a nice feel for your settings & speed etc before the live run.
I'd be thinking higher amps and faster torch speed to help keep the heat down.
For the relatively short length of the welds on the perches, I think it would be less likely to be bent - that's more commonly where said wally burms along the axle tube then around it.
But I;m just a hack, so feel free to ignore my suggestions as certainly Murray and several other have WAY more experience than myself on this

when i welded my spring perches on to my d44, i did one weld, then let it all cool, then came back and did another on the other side. Then let it cool, etc till all done.

no jig and no warping. ya takes much longer but comes out with no dramas

I did the same when i welded my truss on to the diff.
