Update: just purchased a brand new Hummer-spec 4L80E w/converter. s/b here in a week. just need to research as to whether i need a different flex plate and wiring to mate to the 6.0L. also bought some new JKS Discos to replace the SuperLift units. Once again, Tigger has donated parts to our newest TJ addition so looks like i need to buy another front bar and spotties (DOH!)....Next up: 6.0L purchase!

I see Novak's has 2 fuel pressure conversions. One if the LS1 does not have a Reg on the fuel rails and one if it does. Mine does but I don't think it has a reurn line. Is there a way of just removing the OEM Jeep Reg/return line in the fuel pump assembly?

well mate, due to domestic issues, i have yet to fit the Novak shifter to my 242 but i reckon it will happen soonish. it should be a simple install and i cant think of any reason it cant be and have confirmation from Novak to that fact. the 231s have gone very simple so far after doing 2 now. the 242 s/b the same.

as far as the fuel reg goes i now have 58psi after discovering a leak on the test gauge itself. Novak states this is quite a normal pressure and sufficient for the LS1. but having said that i am looking into eliminating the factory regulator on the LS1 intake lines (supply) so will probably lean towards aftermarket fuel rails to get rid of the factory reg to delete the possibility a second reg is limiting pressures/volume. keep in mind this is not an XJ with a return line so yours may be totally different but if im right you have NO return line. this is a TJ with NO return line so s/b the same. so apples to oranges possibly? im still sorting this out - you will probably figure it out quicker than i can considering my circumstance. hope that helps. cheers, R

ps....to answer your question re the simple removal of the Jeep reg: the answer is no. get a proper aftermarket reg (novak is best). thats best of my knowledge
