Been a while, guess I should put in a last update of the finished product… the FireBug is ready to rock!

Couple of recent pics below... with my wheels/tires/beadlocks. 40" comp compound Maxxis Creepy Crawlers on 17x9" Pro Comp alloys, and internal Staun double bead locks.

Spent some time tuning the steering to get some more steering lock... re-drilled steering arms, ground the axel yokes a tad, etc.

One of these pics is a pic of my mate in the buggy. The other one was before it went into the Melb 4x4 show.

That turned out awesome. Nice work indeed.

Did you end up competing in the OzRock finals with it?

Looks good,

What thermostat housing are you using? Does it have a thermostat in it? & are you using an electric water pump to get the coolant from the motor to the radiator?

Cheers Troy.

They moved the Oz Rock finals to the same weekend as my Mum's wedding in Qld, so I had to miss it. Not happy.

No thermostat. Standard housing, but modified somewhat for clearance and to accomodate no thermostat. There is a hole in the housing that has to be plugged to work properly without the thermostat. The guys at G&D perfromance picked that up when it went to be tuned.

Thermo fans run off the computer.

Using standard water pump - not an electric one. I have read that if you go electric on an LS1 you need to run 2 pumps (2 electric pumps).

With the thermos running off the ECU, do you have the ability to leave them running after the engine stops to continue to cool? Or is there no point if the water pump is not running?
