Just got back from up north SA, kicked it off going to Port Augusta to see the old dear, next morning went to Hawker, met my mates there, then up to Marree, stopping for the must do brew at the Copley Pub. Had a scout around Farina on the way too. No pics of the car at Marree, enjoyed the pub way too much that night and crawled into the swag around 2am behind the pub
Next morning I bid farewell to my mates, they're heading off to Birdsville to cross the Simmo, I went down the Oodnadatta Track instead to Lake Eyre, then back a bit to Borefield Rd, through Roxby, Woomera (looked at the Rocket Park), Port Augusta and back to Adelaide. Jeep performed very well, used a shitload of fuel, haha. I do now have a nasty grinding from the front end, hopefully it's the front hub, easy and cheap to replace, not the bloody diff again

Edit: jacked her up, took the brake off, looked ok, some weird markings on the pads, i suspect dust getting in there. Thought bugger it, zipped the hub off, the bastard is munted, fairly hard to turn and crunchy. Lucky I kept my old hubs. Chucked it all back together, noise gone and driving smooth and easy.

Has yours got varilock diffs? They're quite good.

You have the right engine for economical adventures.

I only got 200km out of a tank once, with the 4.7

My WG has an 6.5" IRO long arm lift kit, front and rear, and 35's. But it's a project car in the thread I have in here.

We have a WH CRD also, my missus uses that as a DD. It's got 2" lift and 31's.

You might want to consider a trac loc lsd in the rear and a arb or Eaton locker up front.
