just run an aftermarket adjustable fuel regulator, mount it wherever you like & you can set fuel pressure where you want, any future mods means you can simply adjust fuel pressure to suit.

Unfortuately, that won't work as the standard Jeep regulator is in the fuel pump module in the fuel tank. This regulator needs to be removed to increase the pressure at the standard LS1 regulator on the fuel rails..

not much to tell. its a brand new tranny with torque converter (hummer spec) and imported from the states by an outfit here in Oz (they bought a bunch in bulk). this tranny is also made here in Oz but ONLY for Oz made Chevy Suburbans and only in the last few years so hard to find around here so i bought this one from the states. these are the units that go into late model hummers and hd GM 4x4 applications (Suburbans, Pickups etc both petrol and 6.5L diesels). this is @ the 5th generation of the electronic version of the TH700. it will need (as mentioned) cooler lines, dipstick tube, TCI flexplate, external wiring harness and i already have the mount. it cost me $3650 shipped but i wanted a NEW unit. i feel this unit is much better than the 4L60E but having said that i dont really see a prob running the 60E in a jeep - we have already seen that unit works but i wanted the beefiest i could get. i just wanted to be different so stepped up and i like the fact its brand new and close to the latest model available. it should be bullet proof.

also please remember, i am going LS2. so this is also a deciding factor. the LS2 6.0L will put more stress on the tranny than a LS1. another reason i opted for this.

With the 6.0 the stronger 4L80E would be the way to go and new should be trouble free. I,m a bit funny with auto,s and did,nt just want to fit an adapter to a second had auto. So the plan is 4L60E with adapter full reco with extras from Novak, With the 5.7 & light 4x4ing this combo should be fine. Great work on ya build, i follow it with interest yours and others help me a lot

P.S if you happen to now of a good 5.7 drop us a line, Thanks

Coffman, a used 5.7L with the 4L60E will suit you fine - we have already proven that. i am going a step further only because i can and want to be different. nothing wrong with your plans so go for it! engine/tranny combos are easy to find on ebay but i would suggest going to a local wrecker. you should be able to find these with under 60K easily for around $3500. they are common. all the best, R
