I can't believe how much time David has spent trying to help people on this mater, but I also feel sorry for all the poor buggers with the problem, it should not exist.

I have read somewhere that a car must fill at a certain rate to meet ADR rules.
I have had a brief look to no avail, and since I don't have the problem I don't want to waste to much time with it.
So maybe that could be an avenue to pursue for some who want to take it further with jeep Aust. Perhaps finding this rule or contact a bowser manufacturer/repairer who would also know what the Australian standard is for which they have to make their pumps meet.

On the filler sizes FYI
toyota
51mm Pre 97 hilux
35mm post 97 hilux
41mm 4runner
48mm 40 series
42mm 80 series
48mm 70 series
35mm 100 series (was smaller at first release)
35mm 200 series

Nissan
44mm pre 07 Navara
35mm current navara D/Cab
48mm MQ/MK
41mm GQ/GU

Mitsubishi
48mm pre 02 pajero
35mm post 02 pajero (NM was smaller at first release)
42mm pre 06 Triton
35mm post 07 triton

ford
38mm F250
38mm courier/ranger/mazdaBT

holden
51mm pre 03 rodeo
42mm post 03 rodeo

Rover
has varied over the years from 70mm to 44mm

Jeep
32mm ZJ grand
38mm XJ cherokee
38mm early TJ
28mm late TJ
28mm JK (the end at the tank is 32mm)

I don't know the later jeep cherokee's, but if you search the forums of the other diesel models I will bet they have filling isues aswell, I have seen a WJ/WG models which also have small fillers.

As you can see they have been getting smaller over the years, but jeep wasn't big to start with and still got smaller

Ric
...so it's true then ..... "size really does matter"... sob.

Default Slow fill, European diesel

While I'm still waiting on mine, I have been reading this thread with interest. It seems from cruising around on another forum, Project-JK that the slow fill problem is not limited to us here.

There are a couple of guys in Italy who have posted the same sort of problem there. Here's the link http://www.jk-forum.com/showthread.php?t=28392&page=2

so for you all who have been take some solace in the face you are not alone.

just hope mine doesn't do it.
