I fear the $77k spare parts figure for an engine may not be far from the truth...

I remember about ten years ago a mate that worked at Honda had a customer that freaked at the $5k cost for a single V6 cyl head (no cam no valves just a bare casting.)

So in a quiet lunch hour they added up the price of building a complete Honda Legend from the parts book.....he stopped at about $1.25 Million.!!!

...talk about rapists..

Nothing ever really goes wrong with Hondas.

But on the rare occasion something does, the price of spare parts is ridiculous!

Luckily JJ had a few contacts at Jeep Aus in the warranty department and I went further up the tree. A few minutes later I got a call from the dealership to bring it back in so they could have another look.

5 hours later I got a call to pick up my Jeep with a brand new part, all done under warranty.

If Jenko really had complained about problems under warranty, then I reckon he's got fair reason to be jumping up and down over a $77k bill.

If you ever want proof that chrysler can be generous with there warranties and dealer relationships go a long way, there it is.

That blokes car cost chrysler almost more that the purchase price, 99% was caused by abuse.

From memory JJ's car was small lift, all terrains and a winch. Plus touring stuff. Abuse was right foot type. Point and shoot. Most times Jj's trips ended up on a flat bed. That was the norm. "god rest his soul"
