Around town on 30s 18-19 l/100k highway towing 500kg camper 20l/100k changed to 265/75r16 or 31.8" tyres went down to Bundendore Jeep gathering on highway 13.5l/100k av for trip including some very hard trails 15l/100k

round town now in the 15 - 16l/100k range

so i believe the 30s were too small for 4.11

I to have steel bull bar, steel sliders and roof rack with awning in all these consumption figures.

Did you change your speedo gear drive at the same time as tyres? If not your calculations will be out. Bigger tyres = fewer revolutions so looks like better consumption. Speedo will be out too.

Of course I'll disconnect the battery (mine is not the best anymore) but:

Park it nose up or nose down? Does it matter (maybe something might dry out one way or the other?) Thought to ask for some thoughts on this (since I have some time to over-think this...
IMHO Nose up.

This is an interesting question.
I dont believe there is a definitive answer.

If you park it facing up hill, the fuel may drain back to the tank, this is not a problem as it has a pump in the tank. The engine oil may be up against the RMS & so may leak. If your RMS is good it should not be a problem.

If you face it down hill fuel may run forward & dribble into the engine if there is a problem with your fuel system. ~ Dont leave it with a full tank. There are similar possibilities with oil seals.
Is there any issue with water leaks into the interior of the jeep when facing up or down hill?
I guess that you should park it so you have good access to the engine bay when you return, just in case it doesnt want to start & needs jumper leads.

No water leaks into the interior.
Sounds like a good way to see in what condition my RMS is
Given the poor-man's-prime method I use to improve my starting time and the slight stumble that clears after a few seconds of running (which couldbe leaking injector), I guess nose down (as I have it now) might increase some leaking from the injector. Been sitting for a week now (using the other car) and crawled under it yesterday, no oil or much fuel (slight one), but found a few drops of fresh coolant on my harmonic balancer!? Waterpump area dry, thermo housing dry, maybe from hose clamp on one of the heater hoses front of engine...interesting.

I kinda lean towards nose down. Not sure if drying stuff out is worse than discovering if they leak. But to be honest, not sure what I would expect to dry out. I just would not like to find out in a few weeks that when I start using it again, it turned from a dry jeep into one that sprays every fluid possible...

In my case I would park it nose down because (1) the handbrake works better that way and (2) it looks better front on.

Did a full service on mudmonster and relised it's been 12 months since the last oil change, but it's only done 4k in that time,
Found the issue with low boost and the ticking noise, the intake bolts had come loose. Also retentioned the heads as I should have done it ages ago.

She goes heaps better now, and I can hear the turbo spool up again.
