Default What did you do to your XJ today ?

So... Got some crazy creaking noises from under the front and found way more play in my chassis cracks than I would like. I think daily driving in FWD is taking its toll. Do I just weld on some plates or try and find another XJ to swap my bits into? Cracks are near the steering box and around the driver's side Swaybar mount.
End result it probably 10-15mm flex in the front end hard left to hard right, judging by how much closer the Swaybar gets to the chassis, but unsure if this is expected.
It's (still) my daily driver.

The steering box cracks, you mean the "infamous" steering box chassis cracks? There is an ongoing recall on that, so Jeep might be lured into fixing that...

It's marginal due to the date of manufacture. I would plate it myself. Make it stronger than ever.

Yeah it's pre updates I understand. That and I don't fancy my chances rolling in there with all my mods and expecting them to do it.

I've got JJ's plate design PDF. Do it all in one swift effort. Let me know.

Not per se limited to the pre-updates. Just give them a ring with your VIN.
Do your mods include the steering box etc?
