I love this Mod, i was travelling at speed in the Simpson last week and had to Brake Hard and the Bloody ABS wouldn't let the Tyres Skid! i couldn't depress the Brake Pedal to the floor as i could feel the abs doing its thing through the pedal, i over shot the corner! ABS has no place on the sand the fastest way to stop is hit the anchors!
I was in 4W/HI and did have the 'ESP OFF' (press and hold button for 5 sec) but as we know that doesn't disable abs, i didn't do the 'hockey pokey' disable as thats just stupid and besides abs is still active.
So i hit my 'ESP MOD' switch and i had full control of the car again, could stop on a dime in the sand.
Correct maaaaaate, I used a relay and have it set to factory std at rest and when powered it activates the legendary crazy nuts bypass and illuminates my dash switch see my build thread - bottom of this link http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...=hunty&page=36

I'm keen to do the esp kill button but I am packing myself that I get it wrong. Was a lot less stressfull drilling 18 22mm holes in the roof for the roof rack.

Anyone in Perth done it and could guide me through it?

Bryan its a piece of cake, the hardest part is removing the console to access the unit. If you want to test it before actually cutting the wire just unplug it from the module.

If you want I can shoot you a couple of pics on how I have done mine, but the actual thread for the ESP disable should have all the info you need.

If you can't solder a wire then get a mate that can.

Why go to the trouble with the lighted switch & relay, when the dash is lit up like a xmas tree with abs & traction control lights, no way you could forget you have turned it off, I have my switch hidden in an easy to access place so it cant be accidentally turned on & no one else knows its there.

I'll check the thread out. Soldering is no problem.
