How badly are the backs of your hands cut up after that? (The voice of experience; water pump change = skinned knuckles.)

To be honest, spotless. It took me about 3 hours, also counting that I had to remove and reinstall the front skid plate, which is always a pain.

My 3/8" swivel head ratchet kicked the bucket during the removal, so I had to do everything with a 1/4" ratchet.

I changed the tensioner and the belt in the process. The smooth idler pulleys will need attention soon.

Added under bonnet air. The compressor is under the rear seat, where the jack was. The jack is strapped to the back of the rear seat.

ARB - single high output. It is primarily there for the front air locker, but I got the high output always with the intent of tyre inflation. There is another connection on the compressor under the rear seat, but lifting the seat is a pain when you have the back down and loaded with camping gear. The under bonnet outlet solves that.

Much better for the compressor to be under the seat rather than under the hood.
So after having the ARB front diff and the varilok rear for a while I am curious what you think would be the perfect setup (if parts availability and money were not a factor) for your wheeling. Like maybe what it is now is pretty close, or ARB on both ends etc????
The WG must be fairly unstoppable now compared to the previous open diffs ??

The front locker made the most difference. I have not wheeled it hard since putting the variloc in the back, but I can think of a couple of places where it would have helped. With the front locker and open rear I can get my WG to places that amaze the young'uns with their stupidly modded Japanese beasts. The rear varilock will probably not make too much difference, to be honest, other than perhaps in mud.
