Now that there are some shims in the pinion it seems to wobble less!!!!




Getting closer, just need to fit the new bearings now....

Replaced the oil filter adapter orings and changed oil and filter. Driveway should stay clean now

Pinion all set up, set the pre-load to 28in-lbs, the FSM states 25-35in-lbs so I should be good.
Next up is to do the carrier bearings and pre-load as the carrier currently falls out so either the bearings are worn or the thing was never set up right in the first place, and considering that there were no shims on the pinion apart from a shim to set the pinion depth I'm gonna go with not set up right.....

Anyone removed those ugly fading side strips and can post a pic.of how that looks? Bit fed up having to do them again and again...last time used the heater...
