Driving to the gym my TD XJ decided to grenade itself... just made loud knocking noises and boom cut out. Best waste of money yet

Put the Hood Louvers on the other day..pretty happy with the results even if the drill did pack it in after drilling the holes.

Also found these which look pretty useful and have ordered one for the general duty accessories inside the car (ie UHF, 12V USB, In Cab Winch controller, gauges etc).

If ii don't use it on the XJ it will go on something else, but I like the idea that moving the fuse to another holder swaps that circuit from Switched power to constant power

Have emailed the guy to see if there are plans to make with with more outlets.

So once that arrives I can finish the in cab wiring. Also ordered the front sway bar disconnects and a snorkel..so have more things to do once they arrive
BUT I am also considering getting a late model XJ and swapping everything over. The dam bug has bitten!

Q1) Where is The Transmission Control Unit located on a '95 4.0 ?

I hope to obtain one from a wreck, complete with harness for another vehicle project.
thought it was under PS dash, but cant see it on my '96. Cant see answer in FSM

what does it look like, and is it hidden under other parts, all clues good, might only get one chance!

2) re running wires thru the firewall;..on mine, with the large grommet under DS, harness is also wrapped tight with cloth tape, and I did not wish to pierce with an awl, due to risk of damage, and breach excellent waterproof...would it not be better to drill a small grommet, and put a few wires thru that for any future gauges etc ?

On the pre-updates it's mounted to the lower apron on the passenger side, pretty easy to spot...
