Make sure you put a bit of silicone on the pinion thread & wipe the hole where the seal sits. Put a wipe of oil on the seal surface as well, it helps the seal work initially.
i remember the first time i did one of these i missed the seal and mashed the no1 and no2 thread together on the pinion. couldnt get the pinion nut started and eventually solved the problem with a thread file.... good times

I pre-empt my tune-ups now. Order all my spares from Rockauto, in bulk.

Cheers

I forgot to pr-empt and needed an air-filter today. Supercrap price was $50.00, but i got one "trade price" for $38.00 at another shop. Rockauto price is as low as $2.18c for same thing... someone is taking the piss...

Cheers,

Can anyone confirm that the stupid update XJ fuel tank filler hose reduces in size from the filler neck to the tank?

Stretched the wheelbase a little to fit the HnT SYE with stock front XJ driveshaft - adjusted the rear shackles and replaced the trans mount and removed the crossmember drop while I was at it.

Flares and cut & fold next.
