True but this airflow is not used for cooling the engine but I have heard good things re the effectiveness of this mod (sounds familiar though)...

very, although with the taurus fan on high and the aux on, at idle the system is producing about a volt below the target voltage with the stock alternator.
it rarely needs to go on high though.
I have wired the fan control a couple of different ways now and the way go jeep has it wired is best. temp gets to 104*c fans on, till 98*c then fans off. All day. most of the time driving around if it is below 34*c the fans only come on at the lights.

with the Ac on both fans are on when the compressed is engaged.

Also Bang for buck (HP/$) this is easy the best mod I have done with regard to increased power- but that is about getting rid of the clutch fan rather than any magical properties of the taurus fan.

It seems like there a few people who offer positive information and others who just want to put you down and then there is the people who want to MOD ie Tauris fan so you must be running HOT to want to change from standard
I have changed everything and explained everything only to be told reading 18 pages of bullshit JOKE! Thanks everyone for the positive input
I am going to change the temp sender and add a scoop dumping cold air over the exhaust manifold

I have heard that even a crack in your header can make the under hood temps extreme, so your cold air dump scoop may be a good idea. My XJ header is cracked an occasionally mine has got very hot on the beach, so i am planning to swap it out for Hi Tech header and get it ceramic coated which brings the temps down even more. I also have the run cool hood louvers http://hoodlouvers.com/gallery-new-jeep/
Good luck!!

Main reasons I swapped from the clutch driven fan is HP and noise.
Remind me when it overheats for you again? And are you certain you have no leaks from radiator, thermostat housing, hoses or head gasket? I tried a UV torch for about $8 on eBay, helped me find my leak easy.

I wouldn't jump to a scoop to quickly though, more of a band aid than narrowing down the real issue that might be a bigger one to fix first.
