Thanks DBOR! Put my PP front adjustable sway links in when I got home & found them delivered today. Look nice & solid and cost less for the pair than a single OEM one from the stealer!

Took a bit longer than I had hoped, but you guys have no control over when they make & send the bloody things! They're here now & in so all good. Their shortest length is about right for the 2" lift that the PO fitted & now that awful graunching rattle on rough surfaces, (read Sydney roads! ), should be well & truly gone.

Maybe half an hour to fit them, including figuring out what tools I'd need. Now just to go look for some Loctite super wick in to make sure they don't come loose! (Again! Well the PO did bend the left axle mount rather badly & the stress from that & getting the mech to straighten it would have been what loosened it.)

Got mine from DBOR today too!! Havent put them in yet, had to pick the Jeep up from the service this afternoon then go shopping..... Quick disconnects are on their way too.

But back to the dealer - one of the things I wanted them to check on was the traction control disable light that popped up the other day then disapeared again. They found logs for a fault in the steering angle sensor - replacement ordered!

Default Installed PPM front coils and shocks

Over the last month I have made a few changes in order,

I Installed the PPM Trackbar and welded some washers over the elongated holes. There was some definite movement in my currect adjustable trackbar with OE bushes, and the OE bushes were starting to come away from the metal case. Jeep refused to replace them as they are in an aftermarket trackbar, not that it makes a difference. It was going to take several weeks to get new ones from JKS via USA mail (not courier) over Christmas so I thought I would simply get a new one from DBOR.

I have replaced my 2" front PPM coils with 3". I have the 2" rear PPM coils and the 3" fronts now match them much better Sits more level now. I tried OME and King custom coils in between but neither could match the comfort and ride of the PPM coils, or flex for that matter. The diference was incredible.

I also installed PPM front shocks to match the coils. Once again, I tried matching the PPM coils with my existing Rancho shocks, but I really like the instentaneous reponse you get from the mono tube Synergy shocks. I think they control movement in the fonr end so much better and quicker than the softer twin tubes. After experimenting with several coils and shocks, I truely believe that the front end of a live axle vehicle, especially a JK needs to be tight with as little movement and oscilation as possible, and only the Mono tube style shocks can do this.

Installed AEV drop brackets. I had JKS LCA's on however I noticed the bushes were a litle soft, and when compared to the OE, they were definitely softer, so I reinstalled the OE arms and AEV drop brackets to get my castor back. The drop brackets were suppose to be temporary until I get new bushes from JKS in March, however I love them. I love the ride quality they offer, the car is now much smoother over bumps, both at speed and over car park speed bumps, much less roadfeel through the car, and less bump type steer. I also painted the nice shiny silver bolts that come with it. They stick out like dogs b**ls that you have drop brackets installed, now it all looks stock. tall but stock

Welded some washers over the holes in the front LCA diff brackets. Pedders had elongated these on my last wheel alignment after forcing the bolt in and out so many times. The OE holes were to large any way so I would recomend that everyone do this. if you look closely enough, you will find that all LCA and trackbar holes are 15mm and larger allowing movement and is what causes the elongation. You will also notice that the bush is in fact a 9/16 crush sleeve and not 14mm, once again allowing movement which can initiate the wallowing.

And finally, got a wheel alignment, wheel balance and tyre rotation. I have avoided this as i would like to wear the OE tyres out as quick as possible so I have a reason to upgrade to 33"s. Might need to go play on some sharp rocks. Hill End here I come??

I am now thinking of what I will do with my rear shocks. I like the Rancho's on the rear, but for some dumb reason hate having longer shocks in the front than the rears. And after the seeing what difference the AEV drop brackts make I am considering the High Steer, but may just leave it for now. I am enjoring not climbing under the Jeep every spare second, and so is my family.

Thanks to DBOR for his assistence with many things over the last month.

great work Tom, you are joining the long line of DBOR keep him in business club.

I agree the drop brackets make a big difference in the way the car handles and will go a long way in preventing the onset in DW too!!

Default Dbor

It seems that way doesn't it. The problem is the PPM stuff is really well made stuff, and the coils are the best I have used. I actually switched 4 sets of coils in one week in December, and the PPM coils were by far the best, most comfy and best ride by far, and I mean by far.
I also have the PPM trackbar, and have had a look at the control arms, drag link and high steer, everything is so well made. And DBORS price is sensational, U are lucky to get oz made coils for that price, same goes for the shocks, OME shocks are more exy.
And without giving DBOR a plug, his customer service is pretty good.
I am happy with how the JK drives right now, I want to find a solution for the rear shocks, right compressed and extended length, the right feel, and I will be pretty happy.
Tom

Just picked up and fitted an ARB bar (thanks Paul). Well almost fitted! Anyone stuck one thats a couple of years old onto a 2010 yet? The bolts that come in from the sides no longer have holes in the chassis brackets on the front to line up. As in, there are two hole in the chassis, bout an inch above and the other an inch below the hole in the bullbar. Think I will just have to drill a hole in the chassis to match.

Apart from that very happy with the fit and look, only surprising part was the nose only dropped 5mm. Was expecting more like 10 to 15mm

Well done Dave, “good things come to those who wait”. Look forward to seeing some images of the installed product.
