Just picked this up from JK-forum but you'd think that the same would filter over here:

- Larger Sun visors
- New center Dome light With Switchable Directional Lighting
- New Drop in bin added to full length console
- New storage nets- On center stack and center console
- Hill Start assist- Standard on ALL wrangler models

In saying that - I have heard of no one mentioning any of these things.

You might find the way things are and with some good haggling skills - you might be able to do better than that with the dealers!

Owning a 2009 I can assure you the only difference is the Drop in tray to the top of the console bin and one storage net at the base of the centre dash.
Definitely nothing else, larger sun visors and revised centre dome light did not happen worldwide, however Hill Start Assist is fitted to non-European models, essentially meaning Left Hand Drive.

Additional info: 2009 model first build date is July 2008.

Hope that helps, Dave.

Thanks for the replies! I'm now just reading the threads re petrol vs diesel. If I decide the diesel isn't (necessary) for us we will probably try to just get the best price on a petrol model. Might be joining the red unlimited club me thinks.

Just payed $45000 driveaway for an unlimited crd auto 09 model. Thought the 'you can do it sale' would make it cheaper than this, but i suppose thats only for 08 runouts.

Got it from Peter Stevens in Ballarat. Very easy to deal with. It turned up on the truck about a week before I came in to test drive it. Has about 35 clicks on it, 30 of them done by me. The only options are the renegade pack ($2272) and premium paint ($409). It has the flasher stereo in it but I gather this is standard as it's not listed on the invoice. I wasn't overly keen on getting a black one but I gave in in the end.
I was going to go for the towbar but then decided I would put that money towards the new Kaymar rear bar with tow bar and tyre carrier. Also thinking of getting an ARB bar put on it while it's still in town. Have spotties and a uhf ready and waiting to go on so a bar will come in handy. The other tempting item to get with the small amount of cash I will have left is the special ARB are doing on their difflockers at the moment........ Free air compressor, very tempting.....
The only thing to do now is sell the old Discovery, so if anyone knows someone after a TD5 series 2 Disco with brand new ARB bullbar and siderails (thanks insurance!) give me a call on 0407985449.
