PaulGC is onto it. Just a little more height is all I'm looking at for clearance on rocks hidden in grass.

I dont think you can go wrong if your heading to Stu's and not sure if there is a noticeable difference in the AEV & his own kit. ( more controll over the actual lift height with his kit)
I have the AEV kit but run suspension stuff coils from Stu. Works well for me & seems to perform as well as other shorties i wjeel with that have the full AEV kit.
Im sure you could find someone in Brissy that has the AEV that would be happy to take you for a drive to see how it feels, im on the Goldy & if your nearby welcome to take my shorty for a drive.
Paul
Thanks Paul, I'm at Nudgee but I work just down the road from Murchison which is really handy. I was leaning towards his own kit but was wondering if there was massive difference between the 2.

I'm not doing massive amounts of wheeling (mostly beach with a little bit of bush) so I don't need the biggest and greatest kit, plus our factory shocks have done 70k and feel a bit tired. The other thing I should mention is the Mrs drives the Jeep to work everyday, so ride quality on the tarmac is pretty important. The in-laws have the ARB Old man emu setup in their JKU and the ride quality doesn't feel the greatest to me, either on or off road.

If I'm down the GC in the near future I may just take you up on that, cheers.

What is everyone tire suggestions for a nice ride? Currently i have procomp mud extreme's and as much as they are a good offroad tire, i find they are not so good for the daily 100k drive i am doing.

Current size is 305's, and i regret to say it, but i am leaning toward the coopers stt's as i have driven with them in another jeep and i found them to be quiet and not as firm.

If you a doing a lot of hwy kms then would probably best going to a Load D rated AT. The current favourite is the Goodyear Duratrac. I haven't tried them but those who do have nothing but praise for them.

If your going to cost me a sale, please at least give the guy an honest comparison based on cost.

For instance, for my upgrade to a second hand aev 2.5 xt ligt, it still cost me $900 that does not include the cost of the steering stabiliser relocation and replacement, labour.

I agree it is a harder ride, but I have to say that it is not much more harsh than the 2.5 inch aev xt lift I have now. I successfully travelled the vic high country, some of nsw and all around se qld with that kit.

The closest i have seen for $200 bucks is below and I am not sure the ride would be any better.

Some people have the expectation that there will be an improvement in ride quality in addition to the increased height, at the least the ride quality shouldn't be reduced.

Yep I would rate the Duratracs pretty well on highway as the missus uses it for her daily 100km commute and is happy with the setup.

Sent from a tiny keyboard with fat fingers, apologies for my spelling. .
