Yep, they are slighlty pressed in along the length in a uniform manner. Hate to think what they would be like without any rails or steps. More smaller damage from the small stones caught between the sill and rail. Considering the weight of the vehicle that i have had on these, the things I have hit and also the gouges out of the rails the damage is very minimal

Better option would be the EVO armor along the sills - http://www.offroadevolution.com/stor...-ARMOR-QUARTER

I finally found the time to fit the tailgate strut (from DBOR).

It wasn't as straightforward as I'd expected and I didn't realise that my right wrist was double-jointed - well, it is now. You have to poke your hand through the tail light hole, then bend it back around a panel, feel for the two mounting bracket bolts, then fit washers and bolts.

The strut works very well but probably should have been a standard fitting.
