Default Oil Leak

Hi guys!

New to this forum and recently purchased a cherokee XJ diesel. It's now doing 160K and has some oil that seems to leak from a pipe near the right rear of engine as you look from the front. Mechanic says that it may be terminal and the whole motor needs to be done as the rings are shot and engine is tired. Car has a decent service record and runs fine in my opinion, bar the few drips of oil. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Cheers

it is a 1998 cherokee sport
That is a 3.47" lift there, 17" is standard....

160k should be far from tired....

Thought 18" was standard in the rear of a sport?

and they are ment to be the spring made for sport so should be looking at about 4" of lift

To my knowledge all lifts are based on the standard height, which is 17" and when you add 1" longer shackles you will only get roughly 0.5" lift from them so getting 3.47" lift from your setup is pretty much spot on...
