"The new vs the old.

Early thoughts on the grand cherokee overland vs the VX cruiser.

Jeep rides much better, has more features & is generally more fun to drive.
Cruiser has more storage areas & room to fit underbonnet/interior extras "

And you forgot to mention:
"Jeep looks 10 times better" !!

Hello Hibernator,
Rig looking good. Just a tip for the brake controller if you have not got one yet, due to the fact you have knee airbags options to fit brake controller are limited that is why I imported a Tekonsha RF unit from the USA. No wiring needed in the car. Worth a look as it is a proportional unit.
Regards
Mike

Hi Coxyp. I went with 265/65 x 18 BFGs, which appears to be the largest tyre that will fit in the spare wheel well and still allow the cargo lid to close properly.

Thanks for the heads up on the RF trailer brake unit mikey. Still deciding which unit to use and where to mount it, so I will check this one out as well.

After a slow start I have finally got some modifications underway.

Jeep rubber floor mats bought off ebay (Bayside Jeep) for $220 ($110 cargo area & $110 front and rear passenger areas) They fit well but the front passenger mat had one mounting hole, where there are 2 hook mounts on the MY14. Quickly fixed with a knife.

Rock sliders and underbonnet compressor mount bracket ordered from Stu at Murchison.

Color coded ARB winch bar ordered. Due early to mid January

Clocked up 2500kms in a month of ownership and I'm really impressed with this vehicle. Only gripe so far is poor radio reception.

Cheers & Merry Christmas to all.
