i reckon you cant go past a 5 inch grinder with a 1mm blade on it, very little heat and no paint scratching, they are designed for stainles so they dont heat it up much. Slice through very quickly

my CA mounts dont like the sound of that though
I've used a hack saw (painful), jigsaw & tin snips.....go the nibbler for quick easy results (an air nibbler is on my shopping list) or the reciprocating (SP?) saw for the balls of it
