Yes = 50 or 60 kph according to the handbook. I have tried it on gas and petrol at various speeds from 60 - 110 kph with not engagement of the CC. I am waiting for the SH servo to arrive from the USA and then i will pull the battey out and test the existing unit, the the 3 function brake switch. I have also ordered a code reader to see if any error codes show up.

On the ZJ:
The cruise works at 50Kph and is dependent upon the gear selector switch (mongrel to replace without suitable plumbing tools), speed being over 50K and the brake not being applied.
The dash light will come on whenever the cruise switch is pressed but for the CC to engage (set) requires the above to be met.
The gear selector switch may or may not post an error.
Note: when testing the brake switch: if I recall one of the contacts is normally closed- that is to say it tests different from the other contacts (3 of them on the brake switch) - the brake switch is easy to remove but you need to ensure you install it correctly regarding operation.
The brake light function is separate to the CC function on this switch.
Note regarding the gear selector switch: This switch also governs the starter lockout function and decides what gear you are able to start the vehicle in - does it start in other then P or N?

The cruise servo arrived from the USA today. Good condition but it seems like a primitive operation with a big suction cup to pull the lever onto the fuel system. It looks pretty easy to test with 4 wires into the servo. I will now be able to lift the battery and check the current one with the replacement one and eliminate this as a possible problem area. Thanks for your advice and help - I will check out the starting in other than P and N.
