As dom83 said earlier, I must have bumped the lock as I opened the door to get out.

I locked my keys in the car at westfield the other day. My central locking on my keys is not working so I manually lock then shut... I grabbed a wedge and a coat hanger, reaching the unlock button on the drivers door within 30sec... scary easy...

I had this happen on a boat ramp one time. Since then, I always leave my window wound down if I need to exit the vehicle with the engine running.

Only ever locked myself out at home.
You could always buy a length of thin curtain rod when it happens. In the country you often find you can get all sorts of stuff at the local farm supply store.

Uninitiated: "Oh but I want a hardtop for the security."

The initiated: "Yeh nah."

Side thought/rant: I love the JK with the soft top. It drives better with less head bobble over bumps and feels better off road, bumping the roof into a tree (or the earth) doesn't cause a heart attack, there's no illusions of luxury or safety or security and frankly they seem to be less prone to leaks. Not only that it takes only a few moments to change the look of your Wrangler not to mention the variety of different roof options to float your boat.

Back in 2007 I looked a very strange JK on the showroom floor. It was soft top only, no electrics (wind up windows and didn't even have central locking), plastic steering wheel (not leather wrapped), basic stereo (no subwoofer) but it had a factory rear e-locker and a e-swaybar disconnect. I should have bought it.

Some great tips to break into cars here. Don't ever leave anything valuable in a jk again!
