I know it's not a cheap option - but longer term you'll have a rig that will probably appreciate in value and you can have as an out&out toy.....
How long are we going to be waitingn for a TJ to start appreciating in value?

Yeah Bill, I nearly got here convinced on a TJ, but I think she's got secret paternal plans so is angling towards the XJ....Actually she was keen on a PT Cruiser - but I tried to fix that....

Camel,

You regularly see CJ's these days selling at more than their original sales value. Yes it might take 20 years - but hey that means I'm already 25% of the way to it going up in value.....
As I said I plan to keep it LONG term :D

I'm 25% of the way too. I plan on keeping mine ages too i think. Eventually when i get a proper job i will look at buying a crappy cheap car to get me round and the TJ will be the toy.

Do you reckon the fact that there are so many more TJ's being pumped into the aussie market than CJ's were that that might effect it though.

Hmm more TJ's....possibly (don't have the production number to verify).....
BUT I still say if you keep it long enough & keep it in good condition it will go up in value.
Also I'll wager that the next generation TJ will be IFS etc...
The current TJ was a classic stright from the showroom :D

The next TJ IFS????

You really think so?? I thought the fact they made a wrangler rubicon showed that there is some real jeep left in jeep. I thought maybe all would go IFS except the wrangler. Or maybe the wrangler renegade could go IFS and the sport stay solid axle.

Just a thought
