Hey richo, how about something like this but also chop the roof off and just change it to a soft top i think that would look good.

Id go bob the tail aswell.Seen a bloke do it on US forum,he took about a foot out but kept it as a wagon.I thought it looked great & gave it excellent departure angle .
If springs have longer side to rear they could be spun around to maximise departure angle.

I like the look /practicality of the red one with the tube tray.
You could have a play with the welder/grinder , but i like the j20 cab idea.
