Has anyone tried the Teraflex tyre carrier?
Seems to have options for attaching other stuff as well. Haven't seen one in use yet but I like the idea of an upgraded hinge and tyre mount that reduces the stress on the rear door and still just use the standard door catch to open. Not that cheap though.

I've got one fitted. Had it for a few years now. Nice piece of kit, but as you say, not cheap.
I got mine as as I started to get a very loud rattle coming from the tailgate (sounded like it was going to fall off). Even though the original hinges and tyre carrier felt solid, a process of eliminating everything else led me to try the Teraflex hinge and tyre carrier and it sorted my rattle.
Have to say it is absolutely solid. I've only got 33's and no other accessories on it so it shouldn't be stressed with what I carry on it but I'd not be concerned about adding more stuff to it. I could swing off it and it wouldn't budge.

In many ways I agree with that, but then going the Teraflex route will be a lot lighter than a full rear bar & tyre carrier so it's going to be less strain on the rear suspension and will mean there's less chance of being over GVM..........just playing devil's advocate.

I use the search function often and its a lot easier when you get 1-3 thread hits rather then 20 on same subject. hence why i didn't start new thread
