I think I have narrowed down the problem. The playlist menu's do not work well AT ALL for USB thumb drives. However does read in PlayLists which are off an Iphone/Ipod.

Narrowed it down even much more now, the said USB thumbdrive with the playlist screwing up - same thumbdrive and folders and playlists downloaded to the HDD - playlist now work as it should... strange . Buggy system.
