Agreed! I think a simple billet plug should do the trick. No wearing out like the aerosol caps.

Go retro, it's all the rage......remove flap and put a tennis ball over it...........

Also another downside with this design the opening is too small for the larger high flow pump nozzles. As I like to use the truck bays when i am hooked up to the caravan.

Problem with the plugs is they hold the flaps open so the plug will need to seal perfectly. Would rather have a cap and thus multiple protection.

Anyone got any experience on how much dust does accumulate behind the cover? Not had a chance to find out in mine yet.

Cut down a Neoprene stubby cooler and it seals perfectly. Don't know how long it will last with interaction with diesel but they are cheap enough to replace.
