Oh ok, I will certainly try that then. Thanks for the tip.

Also from that webpage.

P0700 Check Transmission DTC's This code indicates that the EATX (Transmission controller) has an active fault and has illuminated the MIL via a BUS message. The specific fault must be acquired from the EATX via a DRBIII tool. (Input or Output Speed Sensor failures often cause this code and are a common failure part on WJ Grand Cherokees).

The banjo fitting on the transmission as a flexible(ish) fitting between the pipe and the fitting and the o-rings weep a little. I silver soldered mine up and no more leaks.

I'd be inclined to replace the transmission connector as it's cheap and may help with a problem or two.

The leak does not seem to loose lots of oil thought, but it drips?

That won't lose enough oil to cause the error.

In the past I found that the leak comes from where the pipe connects to the banjo fitting, so to fix that you should take out the line and braze it.

Before any expensive purchases:
P0700 is generally caused by a bad battery. Mine is certainly bad and short trips make it worse. After a longer trip, it takes a few short trips to trigger the P0700 right at start-up.
It will shift rough into reverse or drive even after clearing the code. Restarting the engine will take the transmission out of limp mode and the check engine light will clear itself after reaching approximately 70km/h in 5th gear.

WJ Diag should show P2602 as the transmission error. (solenoid voltage out of range).

Guess that would explain why it would happen on a cold start, then be good after a reset????

From all the reading on here, seems the old WJ/WG really does need a bloody good battery.

This car now plays bullshit bingo with me. P2602 - ID 10 Solenoid valve: Power supply Value / signal outside range just came up (no more P0700) in the Transmission section, as well as P1242 CAN Bus - Message Missing from TCM. I guess this is the one related to the battery. I will change it to my V8 Battery, which is hopefully a bit stronger. Although I just have charged the battery. How can I find out how good the battery still is (without going to a professional)?

Not sure about the P1242. Quick search on the internet tells me that it still be might connected to a faulty Gear selector PCB. Not really what I want to invest in since it is almost 500 dollars.
