Yeah that's exactly what I have planned to do. Hopefully it's not a bottom end bearing gone but it did sound like the bearings whined for 30 seconds then the motor died. Now when I try to crank it the whole jeep shakes pretty violently. I'll update with pics of what's happened when I get the chance. Hopefully this weekend.

When the motor died there was a lot of smoke coming from the oil filler hole when the cap was taken off and the dip stick hole as well when the dipstick was takin out. I was thinking that's a good indication the insides of the motor are fried. It's weird though the jeep has oil and the oil isn't thick.

May have dropped a piston, faulty injector can cause that...it's like the last episode of season 1....can't wait for season 2. (if it wasn't so tragic, sorry)

Haha that would be awesome if there was more for the jeep to give but I don't think so. Are the diesels out of the KK interchangeable? I've found one with low kms and it's a well priced engine.

Different:
- external vacuum lines;
- turbo assy;
- exhaust manifold;
- injection pump assy;
- injection pump lines;
- engine accessories;

Get partlists for JK & KK and compare to the bits.

How much do they want for KK's engine?

5k for the whole car. It's in Perth though so I'm not sure how much freight would be. So I guess I can just use the long motor and sell everything else of it? Does a manual transmission bolt up to a motor from an automatic? They should have the same bellhousing bolt locations is what I'm guessing.

Good find.

FW housing assy (aka bellhousing adaptor) is different between auto and manual. U'll use one from the old motor.

Did it throw the rod? Any sign of damage on the block?
