Finally done it, all thee hoses replaced along with coolant.
All hoses seemed in remarkably good condition, but the valley hose seemed a bit harder and less flexible.
I must say how frustrating those hose spring clips are especially when their "ears" are in the hardest position to get at.
They are all replaced by stainless "Tridon" screw type hose clips..........so much easier........now sorting out that shock absorber!

Hey Drover tell me more

"The best thing I found about the Ironman front struts was they are in 2 pieces, cut the yoke of the original strut and the 2 bits of the Ironman strut screw together, meaning you don't have to pull the axle/hub and its underlying problems with the stupid hub nut"

i may swap out my front struts one day, i have Bilsteins in the back but i don't wanna them for the front as i don't want the .75 inch lift.

so do the iron man do the same or do they maintain the original ride height.

i appreciate for insight, (Pics of the two piece arrangement would be nice)

i googled them but haven't seen any images of them apart.

thanks

The Ironman struts are for the 40mm lift given with their springs or most pther after market springs and since OE sag quite a bit I think a bit of lift is better than being sagged.........

The strut is in 2 pieces, the actual piston section screws into the lower mount yoke and is locked in place with a locking ring, its not adjustable for height though, this saves having to drop the axle/CV on both sides which since they have a stupid lock nut saves a lot of hassle, here's a pic of the OE strut and if you look where the yoke is connected on the Ironman its a screw coupling and a bit more substantial, removal of the old strut is done by just cutting of one of the legs, certainly makes for easy repair if needed.

This pdf link shows how along with pics; https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...hTsCnaNIj4mZRu

Thanks Drover, your advice and that article are greatly appreciated. Why wasn't the original equipment designed this way? It makes so much more sense!
I have already started sussing out Ironman struts and prices to both supply and supply and fit.
Thanks again,John.

I found the hose to be in excellent condition, MY14 100000 kms, so was happy with that but have replaced it with blue silicone hose anyway, as you would.
The quandary is, do I try and replace the turbo return hose as it seems to be in an almost impossible spot to get at, especially as the valley hose was still in 1st class condition?
Are there any special techniques to doing it if I decide to try, or do I just leave well alone??
I would appreciate any input, especially from those who have done it!
Help!!!!
John.
Yes i too watched the the GDL vid and was ready to tackle the "3 hoses". (I fancy myself as a man with a spanner....done quite a bit over the years on various vehicles) Like you I found few hints on the turbo coolant return hose....so I bailed. Actually dropped it off at GDL this morning. Next time for sure though:
