are you talking flywheel or rear wheels? 500hp at the fly wheel aint much to boast about from a 454 esp when pushing a big heavy bruiser. 7-800 is something noteworthy. A mild supercharged 302 will push 500 at the wheel. An SRT 6.2L is 425hp stock!

about the same as yours...whats the stock HO 4.0L, about 195hp LOL...not even worth a mention

havent you seen Running on empty ...the blown 57 with a 454 = 900hp ....hehe

LOL 200hp gets me heart racing in an hardcore offroad situation....even at 10km/h

think some of ya maybe missing my point, not disputing 500hp is not a lot of HP, it sure is...but for big cubic inches ie. 454, its far from reaching full potental as far as HP goes. I realise the need for HP for an offroader is different to a street or drag car....

Running on Empty is GOLD! LOL

i think the the main point of a big cube motor is the grunt still available at low revs.

this is why big diesels are all the go now.....has the grunt, a turbo will provide the top end performance and the economy isn't too bad (but thats down to driving style)
