I stopped 4 years ago,using Champix.Still can't believe that it worked.
Sat up until midnight, smoking.Went to bed, thinking ,what a joke Champix was.But haven't felt like one since.

I thought an update was due

#QuitNow! Since 03/06/2014:
34 days smoke free,
860 cigarettes down,
$722.40 and 3 days, 14:01:00 saved!

And I'm not only feeling really good physically but I'm less stressed and apparently I no longer stink which makes the gf happier. The biggest bonus is the money I save here I also get to spend elsewhere.

Well done AroGanz,

Last time i gave up it was for 6 years.

Had one cigarette at a boozey party 10 years ago & within 1 week i was back to a pack a day.

This time i am smoke free for 471 days. My iPhone app says i have saved $9,191 in this time.

I still get the urge, i just keep telling myself the urge will pass in a few mins and if i do have a smoke I will have to reset the timer again.
The worst part would be having to answer to my 9 year old son for failing to keep my promise!

Good luck & keep it up mate, it's bloody hard!!

Nice work mate, I'm looking forward to 471 days and beyond Stopsmoking on Reddit had been a huge help too.

Thanks Wm.

I quit quitting. The problem was it felt like "quitting" was an all or nothing. So when you stumpbled and had a ciggy you were off the wagon & on them again until the next attempt.
Instead I stopped.
I don't even put a date on it.
Every now and again I had a smoko (usually when on the turps), but next morning I'd just say to myself yuck an move on. If I ever had any ciggs in a packet left I'd give 'em away to mates.
Also mates hate it but try not to buy a pack. because then you feel more compelled to have it.
I actually agree with the ads - every cig you don't have is doing you good.
So rally each and everytime just try and turn down the smoko or just delay each one a bit.
Stopping worked for me.
