Thanks for the pic Drover. Must say, it looks like something designed by a committee! Can see the concerns you guys have with it. Sometimes stuff is better when it's simple and left alone.

Thought up by a person who regularly leaves the fuel cap behind, like most of these innovative things on vehicles nowadays, for people who can't drive and don't want to wear out their brain thinking about things....
If you need hill descent, parking warnings etc then you need to learn how to drive .........

I hate traction control and similar things because I have to stop being a driver and become a steerer otherwise bad things can happen if we both do things out of synch.... Certain things I want power and wheel slip it doesn't, I live with it.........

First time I reversed my van I went nuts, then I found the off button........... I don't mind the reverse camera, I fitted one to my old ute, it had a big shed on the back so it was my rear view mirror and at 6mts long I could do serious damage in Woollies car park if not careful.......
My first time with a traction control saw me bogged on a beach (not a Jeep but new horse), I wanted power and the stupid computer wanted to cut it out, my son in law still crows about how he pointed the off button to me........ He likes to live dangerously as I showed him how to FWD....

Drover, the same happened to me in my previous AWD Territory. Hit a sandy patch north of Kununurra and Ivanhoe Crossing.I pressed the button to disconnect the traction control not realising I had to hold it in for about 10 seconds to disconnect it, (didn't read the manual properly)! Hit the sand and sunk the boot in to keep up momentum and it just throttled back and left me high and dry.
Had to wave down a Landcruiser to pull me out; out of phone and UHF range. At least the Territory came with a screw in retrieval hook that I was able to use rather than having to pay hundreds of dollars to get one and then fit to the GC.
Love my GC though!!
