While camping is not allowed at Wilbinga, heaps of people do camp there. There are 100's of little bays and valleys all the way up to Moore River which offer some protection from the howling gale that usually blows it's tits off all the way up the coast.
Not sure if camping bans are enforced in that area but unless you were setting up a major camping facility, it would be tricky to distinguish between an 'overnight fishing trip' and an 'overnight camping trip'.
Also, a lot of the area further North toward Moore River is actually private property.
I guess if you draw attention to yourselves by lighting fires, littering and running amock, you have a much greater chance of getting a move on notice.
There are 3 of those 'big bowls' I've seen that Tyson refered to but they attract the worst of the fully hektic crowd - most campers (overnight fishermen
) get in a valley behind a big hill and there are so many of those spots, you wouldn't need to share a spot with any other group.
