everything came from ebay (of course)...lol...specifically brightlightautoparts.com

as i have a grey interior the blue tint isnt so intense that i would change it too much, however the rheostat on the dash lights is now non functional with leds in there...a little too bright but i wouldnt turn it down too much anyways...maybe 2 or 3 prong leds in the dash guage cluster instead of 5 & 6 prong like i used (or even inverted leds)....id go even brighter on the white map lights....as im going to add diamond plate aluminum door panels/kick panels (maybe) the blue tint will glow & reflect nicely....im gonna do a mix of white and blue in the rear seat (blue low, white higher up) and the same in the cargo area....the festoons: i eliminated the rigid wire design using a regular festoon bulb by grinding some of the plastic housing away beneath where the bulb sits to allow a larger (36mm? i forget) bulb to fit...then just compressed the contacts to seat the bulb using pressure (like you did)...has worked fine on trek outings and neither bulb has come loose...the interior also matches my white/blue exterior so works well color-wise

No Blue!
I had blue LEDs for a while - pain in the arse for map reading, and for everything else almost as bad. Look cool - not practical.
New setup is white LEDs coming out of the roll bar sleeve, both sides of the cockpit. works great! total cost, $12.

i agree the blue isnt suited for map reading and thats why i went with white for those bulbs...after reading your comments i think that yes, white would be a better choice for the cargo area but the rest fitted with blue fits the bill nicely

Actually red or more specifically purple is the best colour to use.
Good idea though and I'm now thinking of doing the same.
