My local jeep dealer was going to charge me $420 for 12000 k service, a friend of mine serviced it for $190, as long as local mechanics have the right soft ware you can save a lot of money.....

Some years ago I had a certain GM vehicle. While still under warranty I had it serviced at Ultratune. I then had real engine issues that called for an engine removal. GM tried to void my warranty. Long story short. Legal action proved that the 'must be serviced by an authorized dealer' had no weight. Be careful but my experience proved that you don't have to use a dealer to keep your warranty.

regards

Aussie consumer protection law stipulates that it doesn't need to be dealer serviced, as long as the service center that does is certified and can legally stamp your logbook.

malJohann exactly my point. Don't let the dealer make you think you have to go to them for service.
