Not sure where you are at...

It went to the mechanic, he/she did the starter motor but not the fuel leak issue?
or have you been now left to sort it...

obviously if there is fuel leaking, something is a miss, normally when a JK isnt leaking fuel, they are a trouble free truckster to prime up.

You are going to have to look around and see where the diesel is leaking from...

Regards
Daz

Starter motor was a separate issue, all good now.

I fixed what I thought was the only leak being a broken drain plug on the diesel filter.

They bled it and got it started.

I am guessing they touched fuel lines somewhere and haven't tightened them up enough or they aren't selling for so other reason.

You are right I need to get under and have a good look. Wasn't prepared to do so when wearing a suit.

So got under the car and had a good look. Definitely not leaking anywhere near filter. Leaking on the other side of the vehicle. Appears to be coming from above the starter motor somewhere. Looked from above and can't see much. Engine bay is pretty tight. Going to call mechanic tomorrow.

There are what appears to be fuel lines with a t piece but it didn't seem to be leaking even with engine on.

I was hoping it was going to be. Worst part of going to mechanic is having to train to work.

So to finish this. The mechanic hadn't "retensioned" the fuel lines properly when they disconnected them to bleed them. AFAIK that means they weren't done up tight enough. All fixed now.

I claimed compensation from the filter manufacturer and actually got enough to cover all towing and mechanics expensives and some compensation for my time too.
