I've got the WH CRD in standard form (no engine tune/chip) and I absolutely love it. Comfortable, reliable and heaps of power.

Well that's what I thought this morning anyway. By the end of the day I was of a different opinion. I spent the day at Lakeside Raceway playing with my Mustang, and sadly the WH CRD doesn't come within a bulls roar power wise. I got home and got back in the Jeep and put my foot down deliberately to compare and it felt like I was on a Vespa. But hey, the Mustang is in race trim with a 5.4L supercharged V8 with 650 HP at the rear wheels.

But I can't tow my caravan with the Mustang, and the WH handles that with absolute ease. As yet, I've had absolutely no problems whatsoever, other than a clunk from the front end that will hopefully be fixed when I fit my new shocks and springs soon. If not, I've heard that it may be bushes for the sway bar or a simple tightening of a screw in the steering.

As always, help is available on the forum and parts are dirt cheap from the US, although be aware that diesel parts are limited from the US, but many more for the WH than the WJ.

Oh - and another thing that has happened twice now. The washer nozzle can break. Not an expensive fix, but a pain in the A.

It breaks where the tube attaches to it, so you end up spraying water between the bonnet and the bonnet lining, and nothing on the windscreen on the side that's broken.

I was going to order from the US, but if anyone knows of a local part that would fit off a similar car, it would be much appreciated.

I've also ho a WH CRD and it's our second GC. Previous one was a 2000 WJ and traded it as we wanted to move to the diesel for towing our van. It has been fantastic, we've done nearly 69000kms now and a lot of that towing our 2700 kg van. I've had it serviced every 10000kms and it hasn't missed a beat. Only thing I have had an issue with was a frayed seat belt that Jeep replace under warranty at a regular service. The Merc engine and transmission have been great. I have no hesitation in recommending one to anybody even though a few others have had issues with the dreaded swirl motor. I get my mechanic to check this for me at each service to try & stay on top of it. As other have mentioned here have a really good look at it and get it checked out by a 4x4 mechanic in your local area.

Guess What Guys! I bought a WH CRD 3.0 today... 110k's and in great nick

But guess what? On the way home I got a ETC warn light at 100kph and after a while got the limp home mode

Any news on ETC faults? I read the previous threads re ETC and it seems either throttle position sensor gummed up or glow plug faults. Any other ideas?

At least i have 3 mths warantee but this is the shortest time I have ever had a vehile without probs... geeeee only 150k's and then a light.

Called the dealer and they picked the vehicle up an hour later so now comes the wait... and the worry.

Hi folks, anyone had an ETC fault light and an 'overboost' code? Are they linked any way? I did put the wellie in on the way home so maybe that is the ETC fault?

The dealer only found the overboost code... nothing else!

I regularly put the boot into mine and don't get over boost code, may be they should look a little deeper, like waste gate or the variable vane in turbo or whatever controls the amount of boost. I would be asking for them to check it out whilst still under the three months.
