Looks good. All you need to do now is apply some the the skate board tape to give some grip on the top surface. I bought my last lot just at Bunnings by the meter. It will protect the top when you stand on it and also it will be very slippery without it once it gets wet.

Thanks for the comments. Total cost was about $225 for materials (steel, bolts, paint) and then add to that the welding sundries and sand paper etc.

I'll take some shots under the XJ and include measurements of everything I did, as well as the actual steel measuremdents that I ended up using. I had one entire length of steel left over (about 2 metres) so not having to use that would bring the cost down slightly.

I'm not sure about the grip tape GoJeep - we'll see on that one!

They look fantastic and all for $225. Do you have the measurements and description of how you constructed it. I want to build a pair.

Thanks for the comments. I'll get under the Jeep with my wide angle lense and take a few shots (people were after those some time ago - sorry) and also put together a bit of an overview of all of the measurements.

Just got under the XJ to take some quick snaps and wouldn't you know it, there are too many soil samples under there from the last time I was at Zig Zag that all I can see is dirt and sand. I'll have to wash it down and take some pics a bit later.

The parts list I used:

4 x 32NB Butt Weld LR 90 degree (the outer round corners)

2 x 1550mm 50x50x4 SHS (the inner rails)

1 x 4000mm 32NB (pipe with 3.2mm wall thickness. Became the outer rails as well as the supports between the inner rail and the chassis rail)

1 x 500mm 75x5 flat plate which I used for the chassis mounts

1 x 10000mm 25x6 flat plate which I used for the pinch seam mounts

2 x cans satin black spray paint

18 x M6x20 setscrews with nuts and washers to suit (pinch seam bolts)

16 x M8x30 rolling hex screw (see above pics) for the chassis rail mounts

I also used some flat plate between the outer and inner rails as a brace. I'll have to see what I used for that.

Once I take some shots I'll try and put some more detail in each measurement/part and update this post.

Just be careful if you build sliders off of others measurements, XJ's were not made that exact and I found my sliders weren't even quite the same left to right but it does help to give an idea on the amount of steel needed

Oh, and they look great btw.

Cheers
Steve
