Rumor has it that there is a shortage of Rubi transfer cases, some problem at New Process.

can't be shortages of the auto... its the same in Rubi and non-Rubi.

T'case maybe...

I also heard that there is a shortage in D44 (fronts)...

Appears to be a bunch of people guessing at what the shortages might be. Not that it matters - a shortage is a shortage is a shortage.

Superchicken - was that order for a Rubi? Auto?

S.

I ordered a CRD manual 12th Dec and after hassling for weeks they told me it was only a Feb build and was now "on the boat". Estimated 6 weeks delivery after build....guess I won't get it until end of April

(need to get it soon - my wife is getting sick of me spending all my time dreaming up all the things I am going to build on it - and the longer I wait - the longer the list gets

Something seems a bit strange.... some of you mentioned in earlier posts you had ordered dec or january and still not gotten an allocation number...
I have buddys in the US that have ordered their Rubicon unlimited's on feb the 2nd of this year and taken delivery by the 11h of march.

It takes around 36 days to roll out (build) a wrangler rubicon unlimited.
as far as im aware the US has had no production delay on domestic delivered Rubicon's

I too ordered a Wrangler Unlimted Rubi early - mid january and confirmed the order was on the desk at Chrysler Australia and was advised late april delivery.

If some of you are now being advised June\July\August delivery, that is an absurdly long time to wait, especialy if ordered in January. The 2013 wrangler is due out for the domestic market in late August, effectively depreciating everyone's car by another year.

Chrysler Australia arent going to be running "just in time" management on my dollar, if they are too scared in the purchasing dept to bite the bullet and order in new stock to meet demand ill order elsewhere.

I think its bull#@% that "they dont have 4.10 gears for rubicons " ,lol so the whole production line stops,??? the same assembly plant has been pumping out Rubicons for a long time, its computer controlled inventory. its not like "oh bob forgot to check that the condiments bin was full, were outta chrome bezels stop the production line !?" BS.
2 of my buddys just took delivery of their new Rubicons in both Phoenix AZ and in Oregon.

more likely Chrysler Australia is maximizing its freight discount. by only making 2 large - 6 monthly shipments into Australia.

Edra, nearly all of the World's automotive makers run their international business using the "Just in Time" philosophy. These are companies where saving 2 cents on a bolt makes a huge difference to bottom line. It makes no sense financially for a company to have $20 million tied up in inventory just in case. Even here a number of years ago in Adelaide the manufacturer for the passenger grab rails for the Commodore went belly up. Holden had to stop the line and stand down workers for weeks until a new supplier could be found. I think you comment is a little naive.
There is a hold up to supply and it is effecting the US market as well. Their dealers have been told there is a production delay and orders are not being taken.

We ordered our CRD Unlimited Auto in May last year and got it end of November, even that was a struggle as they didn't want to release it till January but a few threats and they relented.
Something else to keep in mind is Australia would be pretty low in the pecking order so there would probably be times where even though orders have been placed they are likely to be told that Oz cars will be made after higher ranked nations orders have been filled.
