looks awesome mate, cant wait to see it finished. are you getting this engineered or not?? wondering how hard it would be to have it all engineered as well

cheers guys its a bit like trying to put a square into a triangle, if it dont fit force it.

yea will definately get it engineered, not sure where to start tho i think it helps to know an engineer..

yea the engines a bit wide ay i think its 700mm between covers compared to 630mm in an ls1??

so the lexus v8 bolts straight up to the standard jeep auto?

As I understand it, Jeep and Toyota, along with some other manufacturers, all use Aisin Warners A340 auto trans. Jeep call it AW4. There are small differences here and there that are model specific but all up, the same trans.

I have also learned that, by using a bell housing from a late model Isuzu (I think) you can effectively 'bolt up' a Commodore 3.8 V6. I've been doing a bit of research on the subject looking for substitute power trains, especially engines, for the XJ.

Theres a bunch of listings on the net for AW4/A340 engine matches ..... and what it was a standard fitting in.

Personally Bruggzy ....

I reckon you ought to fit the Volvo engine ....
