they don't do small order vehicles.

the more you order of one particular build spec the better the price of it will be.

Beg to differ. In 2009 you could order your choice of LWB or SWB, your choice of colour, your choice of transmission, your choice of engine (if its a sport) and your choice if it had an ORG or not. This is a pretty highly customised order. Also as has been stated elsewhere the Rubicon CRD is available in europe so we are not breaking any new ground here.

In 2008 when I first looked and 2009 when I bought one each time I had the choice of what they had in stock or what they had in shipment.

The only customised part of the order you have described is the off road group package. Which surprise surprise they no longer offer.

Everything else you have described has always been available.

My experience was different. I ordered everything, colour, transmission, wheelbase and engine. My order was tracked throughout the production line and delivery to the dealer (had to wait 4 months for car to arrive). I was never told to "choose from what's available".

I've read elsewhere that Australia is the biggest market for Wranglers outside of the US but I don't believe it. We don't get as good a range of vehicles as Europe which get a Rubicon CRD and the Sahara.

"This should be a no-brainer for Jeep Chrysler AU...."

So in other words we have absolutely no @#$% hope.

Actually, yes. I was cross-shopping it against the Defender 90 which is $55K on road...
