@Wompig: mate that's really useful info thanks! I've been on the 8mile beach and areas neighbouring Robe. From memory the sand there isn't as bad as Salt Creek where its more shell grit and extremely soft south of 42mile or north of Tea Tree Crossing. Therefore, I wanted the heads up travelling to those parts in my Jeep. So very happy to hear from you and other's that the Jeep is a performer on sand. Judging by your experiences it seems the Jeep should be okay without the lift kit but easier with one. I might arrange a trip and see how a I go and if I feel I need the lift I'll get one.. Really looking forward to it

Just watch you engine temps and trans temp as these cop a hammering on the beach. Just did Stockton on the weekend and will post up picks soon, however we drove pretty hard and the engine ran extremely hot and so did the trans temp. Now I have a few mods to do to stop that from happening but for now I'll be driving a bit easier next time!! 16 lbs it the tyres did the trick for me and had no problems other than the high temperatures!!

Hi Banter, Did a bit of sand driving in WA, up around Jurien Bay there are alot of sand roads off the black. I have an 03 Renegade and I had to get rid of the sidesteps even after the 2" lift as they had a tendancy to be the first to touch and dig trenches. I replaced them with a pair of nerf bars from Wooder's garage. I run Cooper ST's and although they are a bit aggressive, tread wise, they do ok with the right pressure. I have a set of stauns set at 18 psi for sand.

Just a quick question, or two, ESP in sand driving, it turns off by itself when in 4wd low?.....is it still best to turn it off with the button when in 4wd High when sand driving???

Yes

My understanding is that when you turn it 'off' it disables some of the functions but leaves others working. Not sure just what it does, but sand driving is certainly easier with it 'off'.
