**When you fit them make sure you loktite the caps & c clips in with loktite bearing mount, this will make it much harder for the caps to twist & flick off the C clips & stop the caps walking out
Needed to fix this for this weekend, postage from W.A. would have buggered that. I,m picking up the joints from Spicer in Campbellfield. They're not as cheap as I could get them if I could wait. About $57ea.
Good idea with the loktite. Might use the red type just to be sure they stay put.

Don't use the red it's designed for high clearances as in bolt threads etc, muse the green bearing mount that what it is designed for & will hold much better than the red in this situation

Freight from the east coast is cheep for small items up to 3kgs, express post bag next day delivery about $8

Shame time is against you, there are aftermarket unis that use 360degree circlips ( some modding required) that solve the circlip issue, but they would take awhile to get.....

If the yolks are round and clean, replace the uni and get back out there... remove any small burrs etc before putting the new uni in.

You shouldn't need to change diff seals - you can pull the shafts a dozen times and not need this as long as you take care. Clean the splines and grease them before re-inatall, don't push the splines along the bottom of the diff tube on the way back in.

Oh, and do NOT drive anywhere with your busted uni in! Pull the inner shaft (and uni), leave the outer stub and unit bearing in... stuff a rag into the diff tube to prevent a bunch of oil leaking out - you can limp around like this to pick up parts.

If you leave it in, you run the risk of the ears of the yolks passing, which will pop your ball joints and then you are (more) screwed...

There is a full circle circlip mod that is not that hard to do and helps keep the cap in.

As i understand it the Spicer replacements do not have grease nipples, its only the "mega " replacements that do. I had a look at a Nitro Gear and Axle uni at DBOR and it is has a grease nipple and full circle circlips.

They are however not cheap..... ill stick with my RCV's
