Trail rated is an american standard to which the vehicle is built to ei lockers lift ect,it is not a jeep thing at all.it is club type spec rating, nothing to do with what trail you can complete rubicon or otherwise.
sorr mate i think your wrong on this one, its a jeep thing and is related to the rubicon, it is not an american standard in any way. not quite sure why people are saying it has nothing to do with the rubicon trail.
Trail rated is marketing bullshit. No stock Rubi can do the rubicon trail without taking the bypasses. Im with Sladey on this one, after driving the trail on a coilovered SWB on 37s I can assure you no stocker can drive it.

There is no question that all Wranglers are very capable off roaders!
Now, Chrysler are using the Trail Rated designation as a marketing ploy but there is some confusion and different people say different things.
I would like to know if it is just the Rubicon that is Trail Rated? I have been told that is the case.
However I was also told by various others that the Sport, and Sahara/Overland are also Trail Rated in both 2dr and unlimited versions. Is this correct?
And what about other Chrysler 4WDs like the Cherokee? Are they also Trail Rated or is this just a Wrangler thing across the board or just the Rubicon?
My 2011 2 Door JK Wrangler Sport did come with a Trail Rated Badge, I think it was part of one the options I had fitted.
I should mention that you too can get a trail rated badge ^ just donate a wee bit of your hard earned and the boffins at AJOR will get out the glue and slap one on next to your profile pic
